The studios are intended for providing artists, researchers, intellectuals, university academics, etc. with accommodation for periods ranging from one month to two years in the context of a partnership deal signed with ‘sponsoring’ institutions.
The partnership involves an 18-month agreement, open to renewal, to be signed between the sponsoring institution and Lerichemont.
A transparency and steering committee, chaired by the Prefecture (DRIHL) designates the sponsoring institutions every 18 months.
Lerichemont receives applications from parties wishing to be signatory to these agreements.
The institutions can be universities, grandes écoles (top business management schools), research bodies, cultural promotion and/or events organizations…
An agreement signed between an institution and Lerichemont does not necessarily involve a financial obligation from that institution. The latter remains entirely at liberty to choose the form and nature of any financial aid that it might grant the sponsored resident. The sponsoring bodies’ commitments are as follows:
- regularly find occupants for the furnished studios provided in compliance with the residence’s intended purpose,
- guarantee that the resident complies with the terms and conditions of use governing the residence,
- send at least one month’s advance notification of any periods of non-occupancy so as to ensure that the premises may be provided for accommodation on an intermediate basis.
