The flatlets and studio/apartments are intended to provide accommodation for artists, scientists, intellectuals, university students, etc., within the context of a partnership with so-called “sponsor” institutions, for periods from one month to two years. This partnership exists as a framework agreement covering a period of one or two years, which has to be validated by a committee, whose task is to check out an application’s cultural or scientific nature. These institutions may be universities, colleges, research bodies, cultural events or/and promotion organisations, etc. They may belong to the countries sending occupiers, or to the country that is accommodating them. The framework agreement between an institution and the management in no a financial commitment on the part of the institution, which has complete discretion in the form and nature of the financial support it may or may not grant to the occupant it is sponsoring. The sponsoring organisation’s only obligations are to: supply occupants, give notification at least one month in advance of any vacant periods, so that the accommodation can be made available for short periods on a temporary basis.
